Finding the best baby swings and bouncers shouldn’t be difficult. Yet trying to match one specifically to your needs and requirements can be a bit trickier. Some baby swings require setup in doorways, are a little noisier than most, have too fast of settings, etc. and maybe that’s the exact opposite of what you’re looking for. Bouncers can be the same thing. They may not be the right color, make high quality soothing sounds, or whatever it is that you may be looking for. The following is a reference finding the best baby swings and bouncers shouldn’t be difficult.
Best Baby Swings and Bouncers Comparison
How to Find the Best Baby Swings And Bouncers
The amount of baby swings on the market can make the process of choosing one a little overwhelming. Most of them are incredibly cute and easy to envision baby soundly sleeping as she/he swings away. Not all baby swings are equal though.
When choosing a baby swing, shoot for a brand that you’re already familiar with and that you trust. Off brands may not be as high quality as a good solid brand that’s already familiar to you.
Using your hand gently rock the swing back and forth, side to side. Unless it’s a swing that can go in a circular motion, it actually shouldn’t rock side to side. The swing should be sturdy and sound. Move it around and get the feel for the swing. Does it feel as if it’s glued to the ground? Or do the legs rock a bit as if it might fall over? Make sure the construction of it is the highest quality.
The speed should be adjustable and easy to change. There should also be a nice range of speed settings available.
How to Choose the Best Baby Bouncer
Baby bouncers come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. They’re all advertising almost the exact same thing, but not all baby bouncers are the same. In fact, some bouncers don’t even bounce.
This part sounds crazy, but check to see how much the bouncer you’re looking at actually bounces. Some seats require little pressure, which is perfect for a tiny baby. Other seats require too much pressure and your child might outgrow it before they ever actually get it to bounce.
If you’re looking for a bouncer that will help lull your baby off to sleep, make sure the quality of the music that is being produced is top notch. Some bouncers have horrible music quality that might scare your baby instead of soothe him/her.
Depending on how old your baby is, or if the baby isn’t born yet, you will definitely want to check weight allowance on the bouncer.
If you have a newborn, check to make sure that the seat isn’t positioned sitting too high. Having a nice recline, or an adjustable recline, will allow you to lay your baby back a little further which works perfectly if they have poor head control.
Finding a good quality baby swing or bouncer, is less about finding the one that looks nice and more about finding the one that is safest and more soothing for your baby. Researching reviews is imperative. So we scoured through various types of the best baby swings and bouncers to bring you some of the best products on the market. Conclusion for the Best Baby Swings and Bouncers
While all of these products are fantastic, they aren’t all created equal. There has to be one that is seen as the best of the best. So after spending countless, and incredibly fun, hours playing with babies in their bouncy chairs and swings, I’ve been able to narrow down the best of each category.
The best baby swing that I found was the Fisher Price My Little Snugapuppy Cradle and Swing. I absolutely adored this swing/cradle combo. I loved how it came with all of the bells and whistles, was incredibly comfortable for the baby, and that it rocked in four different directions. Sometimes the way that a baby is being rocked determines how calm and serene he/she is. So the fact that this can go front and back as well as side to side, really seemed to make a huge difference on how the baby responded. Overall, a fantastic and high-quality baby swing!
The best of the best bouncer that I found was the 4moms, mamaRoo, Baby Swing, Grey Classic. This bouncer was classy looking and perfect for keeping baby comfortable and entertained for hours. My favorite part about this bouncer was how the 5 unique movements were designed to feel similar to the way that a mother might move while bouncing her baby. I also loved how easy it was to hook it up to your smartphone because of the Bluetooth capabilities. I was able to use my phone to control the volume, speed, and motion. It was fantastic! And to top it all off, you can even connect your MP3 player to it to play your own songs, instead od the same songs that are normally played on bouncers.
Conclusions for the Best Cheap Baby Swings And Bouncers
While cost shouldn’t necessarily be the biggest factor you look for in a baby swing or bouncer (many cheap ones are made out of cheap materials and therefore could be dangerous for your baby or not last long) it can definitely sway a person on a budget to check out the cheapest ones. Some of the ones that are less expensive are still high-quality, so you get added value to your dollar.
The best baby swing that is least expensive than many of its competitors is the Comfort & Harmony Cozy Kingdom Portable Swing. I love this product because of the amount of features that you get for a decent price. The 6 speeds plus the 6 songs and auto-shut features are superb and will grow with your baby. I love how the speeds are built with technology that prevents the swing from bogging down as your baby gets heavier. Overall this is a fantastic swing for a decent price.
The bouncer that will give you the most bang for your buck is the Fisher-Price Deluxe Bouncer, My Little Snugabunny. It comes with many different features that will help you keep your baby soothed and entertained, allowing you the opportunity to have hands off time. It’s perfect for keeping close while you wash dishes or take a shower. My favorite part about this bouncer is how soft and comfortable the material is. It’s also incredibly easy to wash so it last a lot longer. I also really love that it’s made by Fisher-Price, a brand that I grew up with myself and have trusted to help keep my own family safe and happy.
While playing around with all of these swings and bouncers I noticed a couple of things. The first is that despite its appearance, if the product is built with soft linings and high-quality materials, your baby will love it. So even if you end up getting a swing or bouncer that doesn’t quite match the theme of the babies room your baby will still love it if it’s built right, and just because it looks great doesn’t mean that it will be soothing to your infant.
The second thing that I noticed is that it was hard to judge the quality of a product based on its price. While many times the saying “You get what you pay for” rings true, it isn’t always the case. Investing wisely in a high-quality bouncer or swing means doing thorough research first. Talk to your friends and family and ask for their suggestions. Read reviews on the products (like this one) and weigh the pros and cons. Check out the product first hand to see if it’s going to live up to your high standards of something that you are going to trust to put your baby in. Give it the rocking test to ensure that it’s not going to tip over. Feel the inside material for yourself. Listen to the sound of the music. Imagine your baby in the bouncer or swing and think about how it will make him/her feel.
The products tested in this review were done to help you figure out which one to choose. However, you have to check the product out for yourself before making that final decision. In the end, the decision that you make will be the best decision for you and your infant child.
